Mangala Kshema Trust, in collaboration with Kuflon Charitable Trust and MansarovarKutir Ashram, organized a two-day medical camp on October [insert date] at the serene Mansarovar Kutir Ashram, Lata, Uttarkashi. The camp aimed to bring essential healthcare services to residents of the surrounding six mountain villages, many of whom have limited access to regular medical facilities.

Despite persistent rains over both days, a total of 176 patients — 92 on Day 1 and 84 on Day 2 — visited the camp to consult with the doctors and healthcare professionals. The turnout, though slightly lower than usual due to weather conditions, reflected the community’s trust and eagerness for accessible, quality healthcare.
A Collaborative Effort for Rural Wellbeing
The medical camp was made possible through the joint efforts of multiple organizations dedicated to service in the Himalayas:
• Mangala Kshema Trust – Coordination and logistics support
• Kuflon Charitable Trust – Local outreach and community mobilization
• Mansarovar Kutir Ashram – Venue and hospitality arrangements
The medical team was provided by Ganga Prem Hospice, Rishikesh, and Rajiv Gandhi Cancer and Research Institute, Delhi, whose doctors and nursing staff volunteered their time and expertise for the camp.

Comprehensive Medical Care and Screening
Patients received free consultations and medications for a range of health concerns, including:
• General health check-ups and chronic illness management
• Screening for cancer and other non-communicable diseases
• Women’s health consultations
• Guidance on preventive care, hygiene, and nutrition
Several cases requiring advanced medical attention were identified and referred to hospitals in Rishikesh and Dehradun for further treatment.

Service Amidst the Rains
The two days of the camp were marked by steady rainfall, but that did not dampen the spirit of the organizers or participants. Volunteers ensured that patients could reach the camp safely, and the doctors continued consultations under challenging conditions. The enthusiasm of both the medical team and the local villagers made the event a success despite the weather.

Continuing the Commitment
Mangala Kshema Trust remains committed to improving healthcare access in remote Himalayan regions through regular camps, awareness drives, and partnerships with like-minded organizations. Each such initiative brings us closer to our shared goal — ensuring that no one is deprived of basic healthcare because of where they live.
