Mangala Kshema Trust

Mangala Kshema Trust, founded in 2009, is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of people in the Upper Himalayan region. Our mission encompasses health care, livelihood, cultural preservation, environmental sustainability, and the promotion of Ayurveda and other Indian medical systems.

Our Work Includes:

  • Health Care Support: We provide assistance for medical camps and health care initiatives, ensuring that remote communities have access to essential medical services.
  • Research Residency: We offer a facility for Indian and international scholars to conduct research on the Upper Himalayan region's flora, fauna, art, culture, history, environment, and socio-economic conditions. Notable scholars who have stayed with us include Fredrick M. Smith, David Haberman, and Dr. Robert Svoboda.
  • Cultural Activities: We organize events like the annual Akhand Ramayan Recitation to preserve and propagate cultural heritage.
  • Community Engagement: We invite world-renowned scholars, thinkers, teachers, researchers, and artists to spend time with us, enriching the local community with their knowledge and expertise.
  • Agricultural Promotion: We experiment with herbs, medicinal plants, and exotic vegetables and flowers, encouraging local growers to adopt these sustainable practices.
